Stippling or Pointillism Demo
Pointillism - poin·til·lism, from pointiller to stipple, from point, spot. Date: 1901. The theory or practice in art of applying small strokes or dots of color to a surface so that from a distance they blend together.
Stippling - to spot, dot. Date: circa 1762. To engrave by means of dots and flicks. To make by small short touches (as of paint or ink) that together produce an even or softly graded shadow. SPECKLE, FLECK
Everything you see is dots...Believe it or not.
Lisa first freehand sketches the design from a photo.
Then uses pen & ink to "dot" in the design, one dot at a time.
The dots are put closer together to make it darker, farther apart to make it lighter.

Then the pencil is erased and the color is applied with a fine paintbrush in the same way.
We've been on the Net since 1998.
